Ri-Ann Pully

Film and Television Editor, Compositor, Visual Artist and Dancer

Ri-Ann is a Bermudian born Film Editor, Compositor, Visual Artist and Dancer based in Toronto with a demonstrated history of working in the Theatre and Television/Film Industries. Before moving to Toronto, she trained for 12 years as a Ballet dancer at the School of Russian Ballet. Although her love for Ballet never waivered, she transitioned her focus to the Film and Television industry. This became her passion, and after producing, filming and editing her first film entitled 'Dangerous Minds' (2009) (where she was nominated for Youth Philanthropist of the Year) - she was hooked.

Editing music videos and dance concepts soon transitioned to editing Films, Documentaries and Scripted/Unscripted Series'. In the last 10 years she has worked with Toronto-based production companies (OYA Media Group, Canada Media Fund, amongst others) and her editing projects have been screened in film festivals such as the Toronto International Film Festival, Inside Out Film Festival, and the American Black Film Festival.

As well as being an Editor, Ri-Ann is also a VFX Artist (Compositor) for Film and Television at a Toronto/Atlanta based, award winning studio SPINVFX where her credits include 'Umbrella Academy', 'Altered Carbon', 'Star Trek's: The Expanse', amongst other. Ri-Ann's work has also been featured on platforms such as Netflix, Discovery+, Disney+, and AppleTV.

As a Black, Female-Identified, Queer, Immigrant artist living in Toronto, Ri-Ann has found it necessary to create space for other artists who identify in underrepresented communities. Ri-Ann has become the Founder and Curator of an artist/creative-only, live-performance hub for BIPOC and Queer artist communities, called Liveations.

In addition to curating Liveations, Ri-Ann is currently creating and executive producing an unscripted, roundtable documentary series, entitled 'The Audacity', which will highlight the journey's of Toronto-based artists as they try to "make it" in "The New Hollywood North". The series will feature honest conversations with poignant questions, and documentary-style artist bios.

Ri-Ann holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and Digital Media Studies from Ontario Tech University and currently lives with her wife in Toronto. â€‹â€‹
